  • FIAT 500X 2020

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, there may be a crack in the right rear brake caliper. This could cause reduced braking performance.

Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the right rear brake caliper. The caliper will be replaced if required. Recall Details

  • MAZDA MAZDA3 2019 2020

Issue: On certain cars, the automatic emergency braking system (called Smart Brake Support or SBS) may falsely detect an obstacle in front of the car while driving. As a result, the brakes may apply automatically when there is no risk of a crash.

Safety Risk:  If the SBS system activates the brakes unexpectedly when there is no risk of a crash, there could be an increased risk of a rear-end crash.

Corrective Actions: Mazda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your car to a dealer to update the SBS control software. On certain cars with earlier build dates, the instrument cluster will also be reprogrammed or replaced. Mazda will provide these owners with an updated owner’s manual that provides revised information about how to temporarily deactivate the SBS system. Recall Details

  • FORD F-150 2020

Issue: On certain trucks, the bead area of the spare tire may have been damaged when it was mounted onto the rim. Over time, this could cause the bead wire to separate and may result in tire failure.

Safety Risk: A tire failure could affect vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to replace the spare tire. Recall Details

Issue: On certain cars, a problem with the hydraulic control unit for the anti-lock brake system (ABS) could cause increased brake pedal travel.

Safety Risk: Increased brake pedal travel could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the ABS module assembly. The system will be flushed with DOT 4 brake fluid, and if necessary, the hydraulic control unit will be replaced. Dealers will also replace the DOT 3 reservoir cap with a new DOT 4 cap. • BMW 3 SERIES 2020

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the seat belt retractors for the rear outboard seats could contain a defect. This could cause the seat belt pretensioner not to function as designed. As a result, the seat belt may not properly restrain a passenger in a crash.

Safety Risk: A seat belt that does not work properly in a crash could increase the risk of injury to passengers.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the rear outboard seat belts. To reduce safety risk, BMW recommends not to carry passengers in the rear outboard seats until the recall repairs are performed. Recall Details
