The Vehicle Recalls for March are as Follows

  • Ford Edge (2016, 2017)
  • Lincoln Continental (2017)
  • Lincoln MKX (2016, 2017)

Certain driver frontal airbag modules may have been assembled incorrectly. In the event of a crash warranting deployment of the driver’s frontal airbag, the airbag may not completely fill, or the air bag cushion may detach from the airbag module, which would not protect the driver as expected, and could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver’s frontal airbag. Recall Details

  • Porsche 911 Carrerra 4 & 911 Turbo S (2017)
  • Porsche 911 R (2016)
  • Porsche Cayman & Cayman S (2017)

Certain vehicles may have been equipped with a front passenger airbag that does not meet specifications. This could cause the front passenger airbag to fail to deploy properly in the event of a crash that warrants deployment of the passenger frontal airbag, which could increase the risk of injury to the occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace front passenger airbag module. Recall Details

  • Volkswagen Jetta (2017)

The tire information label may have incorrect vehicle load rating values. This could result in vehicle overloading, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will apply a revised label. Note: This recall affects Jetta GLI models only. Recall Details

  • Subaru Impreza (2017)

On certain vehicles, the rear view camera image may not display properly due to a software issue within the infotainment unit. During the initial boot-up, a blank screen might occur, or if multiple processes occur at the same time, the screen might freeze. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property while reversing. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the software of the infotainment unit. Recall Details

  • BMW X5 (2011, 2012, 2013)
  • BMW X6 (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)

Certain vehicles may have been manufactured with defective front driveshaft universal joint seals, which could allow water and/or dirt to enter the universal joint, causing accelerated wear and/or corrosion, and resulting in vibration. If the vehicle continues to be operated in this state, the universal joint could eventually break, potentially damaging surrounding components and rendering the vehicle inoperative. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction : Dealers will replace the front drive shaft. Recall Details

  • Volkswagen Taureg (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010)

On certain vehicles, the fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks or fissures, which could result in a fuel leak. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will apply a butyl protective film to the fuel pump flange. If cracks are present, the fuel pump flange will be replaced. Recall Details

  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 & 3500 (2016)

On certain vehicles, the bracket for the intermediate bearing of the drive shaft may not have been welded correctly during assembly. The retaining function of the bracket may be compromised, potentially causing it to become loose. In the event of a frontal crash the bracket may become loose and the drive shaft could damage the fuel system, allowing a fuel leak to occur. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will fix the bracket of the intermediate bearing of the drive shaft with three additional rivets. Recall Details

  • Nissan Versa (2012)

On certain vehicles, a bad connection at the side airbag sensor connector could cause a momentary communication loss from the side airbag sensor to the Airbag Control Unit (ACU). This would put the system in a backup state, lowering the impact threshold required for a side airbag deployment. If a door is being closed with force while the system is in this backup state, this could cause an unintended side airbag deployment in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, which would increase the risk of injury to occupants. Correction: Dealers will install a jumper harness and replace the side airbag sensor with a new one. Recall Details

  • Infiniti QX30 (2017)

On certain vehicles, the generant mix ratio of the driver side curtain airbag may not meet specifications. In the event of a crash, an improper generant mix could prevent the side curtain airbag from deploying properly, which would increase the risk of injury to the driver. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver side curtain airbag assembly. Recall Details

  • Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport (2016)

Certain vehicles may have been equipped with a front passenger airbag that does not meet specifications. This could cause the front passenger airbag to fail to deploy properly in the event of a crash that warrants deployment of the passenger frontal airbag, which could increase the risk of injury to the occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace front passenger airbag module. Recall Details

  • Pontiac Vibe (2009, 2010)

General Motors Canada is conducting a voluntary Safety Improvement Program involving driver and passenger airbag inflators in certain vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in certain high humidity areas of the United States equipped with Takata airbags. Recall Details

  • Dodge Sprinter (2007, 2008, 2009)

On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the front driver air bag module. Recall Details

  • Ford Mustang (2017)

On certain vehicles, the driver’s side interior door handle may have been built with a misoriented return spring, which could increase the potential for the spring to become unseated. If the return spring were to unseat, the driver door may unlatch if subjected to a significant load during a crash, which could increase the risk of injury to the driver seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect the driver’s side interior door handle for a missing or incorrectly oriented return spring and repair as necessary. Recall Details

  • Hyundai Sonata (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015)

On certain vehicles, the connections between the front seat belts and the floor mounted seat belt anchor pretensioners may not have been attached properly during assembly. This could result in a front seat belt possibly detaching from the anchor pretensioner. If the vehicle were to be involved in a collision, and the seat belt were to detach, it could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will verify the connection between the seat belt linkage and the anchor pretensioner’s cable connector for both front seat belts and repair as necessary. Note: For the 2015 model year, it is only Sonata Hybrid models that are affected. Recall Details

  • Mercedes-Benz C Class, CLA Class, GL Class, ML Class (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)

On certain vehicles, an update provided between de 3rd and 5th of December 2016 to the vehicle control unit may have been incorrectly applied. This could affect the proper function of various safety systems such as airbag deployment sequence, seatbelts recognition status, speed limiter setting and others. These conditions could increase the risk of injury to the occupants in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will update the affected control units. Recall Details

  • Smart ForTwo (2015, 2016)

Vehicles may have been assembled with headlamps that allow for horizontal adjustment, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle visibility, or could adversely affect the vision of oncoming drivers during low light and night time conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install sealing caps on the headlamps to seal the adjustment screws. Recall Details

  • Mercedes-Benz E Class (2017)

Certain airbag control units may have been programmed incorrectly. In the event of a low speed crash warranting first stage deployment of the driver’s or passenger’s frontal airbags, the airbag may incorrectly deploy the second (higher impact) stage. If a front seat occupant was unbelted and out of position, the risk of injury to that occupant could be increased. Correction: Dealers will update the airbag control unit. Recall Details

  • Mercedes-Benz CLA Class (2016)

The light conductor for the side marker lamps might have been misaligned by the supplier. This could result in the side marker lamp brightness not being sufficient, and not meet the requirements of the standard, which would reduce vehicle visibility, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will align the light conductors in the headlamps. Recall Details

  • Mercedes-Benz G Class (2016)

On certain vehicles, the Bowden cables between the inner door handles and door locks may be defective. If the vehicle is involved in a crash, the force required to open the door locks might be increased, causing the Bowden cables to break when using the inside handles to unlock the doors. If this occurs, it would be impossible to unlock and open the doors using the inside handles making it difficult for the occupants to exit the vehicle, which would increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the Bowden cables on all 4 doors. Recall Details

  • Nissan Murano (2013, 2014)

On certain vehicles, the high pressure power steering hose could separate due to an incorrect clamp. If the hose were to separate, it could cause a power steering fluid leak, resulting in increased steering effort and potential for a fire in the presence of an ignition source. This could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit. Recall Details

  • BMW X5 (2017)

On certain vehicles, the front passenger airbag could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment due to a potential airflow impairment in the inflator module. Correction: Dealers will replace the front passenger airbag inflator. Recall Details
