Issue: This recall is for certain vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced as a part of an earlier recall campaign. This recall provides a final repair. Long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.

Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.

Corrective Action: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the passenger-front airbag inflator. The passenger-front airbag module or inflator will be replaced as necessary. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected. Recall Details

Issue: On certain vehicles, moisture can enter the brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) and cause a short circuit.

Safety Risk: A short circuit could create a fire risk. This can happen even if the vehicle is parked.

Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a relay to power off the HECU when the vehicle is turned off. Recall Details

  • BMW X6 2020

Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear spoiler might not be properly attached. This could cause the spoiler to detach from the vehicle.

Safety Risk: A spoiler that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear spoiler, and if necessary, replace it. Recall Details

  • BMW 6 SERIES 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019

Issue: On certain M6 Gran Coupe models, the center high-mounted stop lamp (third brake light) may not be properly attached. Over time, the lamp could loosen and separate from the vehicle.

Safety Risk: A stop lamp that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, it would reduce vehicle visibility for following road users.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and secure the high-mounted stop lamp. If the stop lamp has detached from the vehicle and is damaged, it will be replaced. Recall Details

  • AUDI Q7 2019

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace one or both of the side-curtain airbags. Recall Details

  • FORD F-150 2018 2019 2020

Issue: On certain trucks, there may be a problem with the software that controls the daytime running lights (DRLs). When the DRLs are on and the master lighting switch is rotated from the “Autolamp” position to the “headlamp on” position, the DRLs do not lower to parking light brightness. Canadian regulations require that the DRLs turn off when the headlights are turned on. Note: This only affects trucks equipped with LED headlights and the Autolamp feature (automatic headlights).

Safety Risk: Lights that are too bright could cause glare for oncoming drivers.

Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to update the body control module (BCM) software. Recall Details

  • FORD F-150 2015 2016

Issue: On certain trucks with a 3.5-L engine, there could be a problem with the engine block heater cable. The wrong cable may have been installed when your vehicle was repaired under a previous recall. The cable that was installed may not have enough heat protection and could be damaged by high engine temperatures. When plugged in, this could cause a short circuit to occur, resulting in overheated or melted wiring. It could also cause the block heater not to work, and/or it could cause a household circuit breaker to trip. For details of the previous recall, please see Transport Canada recall no. 2019-174 (Ford no. 19S11/19G01).

Safety Risk: Overheated or melted wiring could create the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions: Do not use your block heater until the recall inspection and repairs are completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the block heater and cable. Depending on the results of the inspection, the heater element and/or block heater cable will be replaced, as necessary. If the replacement parts are not available, the dealer will disable the engine block heater. Ford will send you another notice when the replacement parts are available, and will ask you to take your vehicle to a dealer to have them installed. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2019

Issue: On certain vehicles, the roof may be missing welds where the roof bows attach to the B-pillar. This could affect the crash protection of the vehicle.

Safety Risk: A vehicle with an improperly welded roof could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to weld the missing seams. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2019

Issue: On certain vehicles, the screws that attach the intermediate bearing for the steering shaft may not be properly tightened. Over time, the screws may loosen and cause a rattling noise or a change in steering feel. If a driver continues to operate the vehicle, the screws could detach completely and cause a loss of steering control.

Safety Risk: A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the screws on the steering spindle intermediate bearing. Recall Details

  • KIA SEDONA 2011 2012

Issue: On certain vehicles, the fuel rail could develop small cracks. If this happens, there could be a fuel odour or fuel leak in the engine compartment.

Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel rail. Recall Details

  • CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2020
  • GMC SIERRA 2020

Issue: On certain trucks, the bolts used to attach the front and/or rear brake calipers could break under load. If this happens, the brake caliper could detach. As a result, brake performance could be reduced, and/or the caliper could interfere with wheel rotation.

Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace the brake caliper bolts. Recall Details
