  • HONDA CR-V 2019

Issue: On certain vehicles, the connection between the fuel tank and the fuel vapour return line may not be properly welded. Over time, vibrations and heat cycling can cause the weld to separate, resulting in a fuel leak.

Safety Risk:  A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, creates the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel tank. Recall Details

Additionally, the vehicle may also be in Factory Mode, which disables warning alerts and chimes and does not display the transmission gear position (under certain conditions).

Safety Risk: A missing MPR cover could create a situation where the transmission can be shifted without a key in the ignition. If the transmission position is not displayed, a user may not know that the vehicle is not in the PARK position. If the parking brake is not applied, either of these situations could create a risk of a vehicle roll-away and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect for the MPR cover. If missing, it will be installed. The dealer will also verify that the instrument cluster is not set to Factory Mode. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ C CLASS 2018 2019

Issue: On certain vehicles, the 12-volt starter battery may not be properly secured by its mounting bracket. In a crash, the battery may shift and the terminals might disconnect. This could interrupt power to the vehicle, which would affect multiple post-crash systems. It is also possible that the battery could detach from the vehicle. Note: A loose battery could cause a rattling or knocking noises from the engine compartment while driving.

Safety Risk:  A failure of the post-crash systems could increase the risk of injury. A battery that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the battery mounting bracket. Recall Details

  • BMW 7 SERIES 2020

Issue: On certain 745Le xDrive plug-in hybrid models, there may be no audible seat belt warning sound when the vehicle is started. This warning is provided to remind the driver to buckle their seat belt. Canadian regulations require this warning at vehicle start-up.

Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash. This could increase the risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to apply a coating to protect the front seat belt pre-tensioner cables. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ GLE CLASS 2020
  • MERCEDES-BENZ GLS CLASS 2020

Issue: On certain vehicles, the air conditioning drain hoses may not be installed correctly. This could allow condensation water from the air conditioner to enter the passenger compartment. If this happens, nearby electrical components could corrode and/or short circuit. This could cause some electrical systems not to work properly. This includes: an inability to unlock or start the vehicle, the automatic emergency call (eCall) system may not be available, and the engine “limp home mode” could be activated.

Safety Risk: A short circuit could create the risk of a fire. The failure of other electrical components could increase the risk of injury or a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the air conditioning drain hoses, and correct their installation if necessary. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ S CLASS 2019

Issue: The interior covers on the A-, B-, and C-pillars may not have been installed correctly. In a crash requiring the activation of the side curtain airbags, the pillar covers could detach. This could cause the curtain airbags not to open correctly. In addition, the pillar covers could be projected toward people in the vehicle.

Safety Risk: In a crash where the side curtain airbags deploy, this could increase the risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify the owner by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the interior covers on the A-, B-, and C-pillars. The covers will be reinstalled correctly, if necessary. Recall Details

  • MERCEDES-BENZ GLA CLASS 2019

As a result the seat belt could detach immediately when used, making the middle seating position unavailable. In the unlikely chance that a person did not notice the seat belt was loose, it may come loose while driving or in a crash.

Safety Risk: A seat belt that is not properly attached could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the middle-rear seat belt. If the seat belt is not properly attached, it will be reinstalled correctly. Recall Details

  • MINI COUNTRYMAN 2019

Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the tie rods and ball joints. Recall Details

  • BMW 3 SERIES 2020

Issue: On certain vehicles, the support for the centre-rear head restraint may not be properly welded. This could cause the head restraint to fold down in a rear impact.

Safety Risk: A centre-rear head restraint that does not remain in place could increase the risk of an injury in a crash.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the centre-rear head restraint. Owners are advised not to use the centre-rear seating position until the recall repairs are completed. Recall Details

  • BMW I3 2019

Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the circuit board for the Electric Motor Electronics (EME) module could cause the high-voltage electrical power to shut off. This would result in a loss of power to the drive motor.

  • VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017

Issue: On certain vehicles, a build-up of silicate on the shift lever switch could cause the transmission to detect that it is in the Park position when it isn’t. This could allow the ignition key to be removed when the transmission is not in the Park position. If the parking brake is not applied, this could allow the car to roll away.

Safety Risk: If the transmission position is not displayed correctly, a user may not know that the vehicle is not in the PARK position. If the parking brake is not applied, this could create a risk of a vehicle roll-away and increase the risk of a crash.
