On certain vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition system, a spring in the ignition switch could wear and break. This may allow the ignition key to inadvertently move from the ON position to the accessory (ACC) position while driving, causing the engine to shut off and the airbag system to lose power. The resulting loss of motive power, and change in steering and brake forces could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Additionally, in the event of a crash, this may also cause the airbags not to function.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the lot number of the ignition switch, and replace it with a new one if it is affected. Note: Until the correction is performed, owners are advised to remove all objects from the ignition key ring, such as additional keys, key chains, etc. Recall Details

On certain vehicles, the rear axle may not have been properly filled with oil. This could cause the axle to generate excessive noise and fail prematurely, resulting in loss of motive power and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the rear axle oil level. Vehicles found with a rear axle with no oil or a low oil level will have the rear axle replaced. Recall Details

  • VOLVO XC40 2019

On certain vehicles, the brake pedal may not have been fastened correctly during manufacturing, and could result in the brake pedal moving out of position. If this were to occur, it may lead to reduced braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the brake pedal and replace it if necessary. Recall Details

This could cause a loss of power steering assist. The resulting increase in steering effort could create the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Correction: Dealers will replace the mounting bolts and apply a corrosion protection coating to the gear housing and bolts. If the bolts bolt cannot be removed, a replacement steering gear will be installed. Recall Details

  • MAZDA B SERIES 2004 2005 2006

On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant.

Correction: Dealers will replace the driver frontal airbag inflator. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2016-050 (Mazda Recall 9116A). Vehicles repaired under the previous recall require a final repair under this recall, as the previous recall remedy was an interim repair. Interim repair parts must be replaced with final repair parts. Recall Details

  • HONDA RIDGELINE 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury.

Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator. Recall Details
